Experience the mouthwatering flavors of Chinese street food in Xi’an, China. I have always dreamt of trying authentic Chinese food, so I decided to fly to Xi’an and indulge in the local street food and noodles. Xi’an has some of the best Chinese street food I have ever tasted, surpassing even the amazing street food in Beijing, Shanghai, and Chengdu.
During my visit to Xi’an, I had the opportunity to try a variety of street food and dine at some fantastic restaurants. One of the highlights was exploring the old quarter, also known as the Muslim quarter, where I discovered a plethora of delicious street food options.
Here are some of the must-visit locations for Chinese street food and restaurants in Xi’an:
1) SUANTANG JIAOZI – This place offers sour and spicy dumplings that are bursting with flavor. It is located at 马二酸汤水饺, at the third intersection east of Sajinqiao North Gate.
2) ROUJIAMO + LIANGPI – Indulge in Chinese burgers and cold spicy noodles at 王魁腊汁肉总店, located at the Buxianan in Beilin District.
3) FENZHENG ROU – Try the steamed spiced beef at 马家粉蒸肉馄饨, situated at No. 48 Dapiyuan.
4) GUANTANG JIAOZI – Don’t miss out on the special Xi’an soup dumplings at 志亮灌汤蒸饺, located at No. 12 Sajinqiao.
5) HULA TANG – This place serves a spicy and peppery local Xi’an soup called 老刘家伊味香肉丸糊辣汤专卖店. It can be found at No. 89 Dapiyuan for just ¥8.
6) DOUFUNAO – Enjoy silken bean curd (tofu) with chili oil and vinegar at this pushcart located in Dapiyuan Street.
7) SHUIJIANBAO: Indulge in juicy beef steam-fried baozi at 吾德肉丁胡辣汤, situated at No. 33 Dalianhuachi Street.
8) LIANGFEN – Try the cold spicy jelly noodles with sesame paste, vinegar, and mustard at 卤汁凉粉, located at the intersection of Yumiao Street and Saqinxi Road.
9) BIANG BIANG MIAN – Savor the Xi’an special Biang Biang noodles at Biangbiang面, located at No. 80 Nanyuanmen.
10) XIAOSUROU – Don’t miss the deep-fried and steamed fatty beef at 定家小酥肉, situated at No. 223 Xikou in Dapiyuan.
11) YANGROU PAOMO: Try the delicious beef and lamb paomo at 磊鑫楼牛羊肉泡馍, located at No. 150 West Longshou North Road (outside the old city wall).
