In this episode, I embarked on a culinary adventure in southern Sichuan province, exploring the vibrant world of Chinese street food. I decided to explore the deep regions of southern China, specifically the lush and mountainous liangshan region, in search of unique and delicious Chinese cuisine. What I discovered was a whole new world of flavors and dishes that I had never experienced before.
The liangshan region is home to the Chinese Yi ethnic minority, who have their own distinct cuisine. As I ventured into the rural and often impoverished areas of the region, I initially struggled to find authentic Yi cuisine. However, in the second half of the video, I stumbled upon a Yi restaurant in the small village of Butuo, located about 120 km from Xichang. This was a game-changer as I indulged in a sumptuous feast of traditional Chinese dishes.

To capture the essence of my food journey, I relied on my trusted gear and resources. My new camera, known for its incredible 4K capabilities, allowed me to capture the vibrant colors and intricate details of the street food. I also utilized various lenses, such as a telephoto lens for close-up shots and an action cam for waterproof footage. In terms of audio, I had a setup that ensured clear voice recordings. To store all the footage, I relied on high-capacity memory cards and a powerful editing computer.
